Tom, Kevin, and Tom from Midlothian, IL came up for a few days of fishing and booked a morning trip on "The Rock". All three live within five houses of each other and try to get away for a weekend of fishing. I picked them up at Well's Lakeside Cottages at 8 am. When I launched at Castle Rock County Park on the Adams County side the waves were already breaking white-caps with a strong WNW wind about 12-15 mph. (the weatherman predicted 5-7). About 11 am it switched more out of the north and started to gust.We vertical jigged 1/4 ounce brush jigs on channel edges and humps tipped with fat head minnows in 12-16 feet of water. The walleye were not real aggresive with the cold front and we missed a lot of fish, but did manage some nice "keepers", a lot of "shorties, and 1 nice 27" slot fish. No crappies, and only one white bass today. Boat control was really hard at times, but all three had a great time.
