Heres a general fall fishing question: What does everyone feel is the threshold temperature when these lures lose their effectiveness: topwaters and bucktails/cowgirls? I think this could be a good topic

For me it's turnover or around middle/upper 50's water temps when I get no action on blades or top waters. But, maybe if I used them more at that time?. I know people get em on blades right up to ice up, some even claim action on topwaters in late fall, but not me.

Good Question. I use topwater and bucktails all the way to about 50 degree water temps and the occasionally use them if I feel conditions are right. I know a client of mine caught one a couple years ago at the end of October on a Stillwater because he thought it looked like a good topwater day.
