September has arrived with hard hitting Pike and Muskie. I've been shown a few spinner baits that were badly mangled.

Calvin Rooke landed a nice looking 38 inch Muskie on August 30th. Cuda McCune landed a 29 inch Muskie on September 8th. Cuda's group from Ohio have landed other Muskies this week around 28-29 inches.

Mitch Boedicker took the lead in our Pike category with a 38 incher that he landed on Sept. 8th. Roger Hoeppner landed a 35 incher and a 31 1/2 incher on Sept. 11. Three Pike in the 29-30 inch range were landed by Al Henkle, Delmar Knepp and Austin Stundahl in August.

On August 16th Jared Wittmer from Indiana landed a 27 1/2 inch Walleye. He's in 4th place in our contest. On Sept. 3rd Jerry Graham landed a 25 3/4 inch Walleye.

Eight of our top ten Crappies were landed in June, but Brian Graber landed a 14 incher on August 11th. His Crappie is tied for 5th place.

Rick Martens landed our 3rd biggest Largemouth Bass of the year, a sweet 19 3/4 incher. He caught that fish on Sept. 8th. Akio Toby landed a 18 3/4 inch Largemouth Bass on August 27th.

Four year old Jaxun Pohlman had a great day on August 11th. He landed the biggest Perch of the year, a 12 1/2 incher. That same day Jaxun landed our biggest Bluegill of the year, a jumbo 10 1/2 incher.

Our 2nd largest Perch of the year was landed on Sept. 1st by Kara Scholl. Her Perch measured 12 3/8 inches. Maddie Larson landed a 12 1/4 inch Perch on July 31st.

More big Bluegills were landed recently. Vicki Nichols 10 1/4 incher landed her in 2nd place. Andy Burns is in 3rd place with his 10 1/8th incher and Alex Kisling caught a 10 incher on August 29th.

The water temperature is still 70 degrees and the leaves on the trees are still green. Fall is approaching though. If you stand under an Oak tree right now for very long, you may be hit by a few acorns.

All of our cabins are full next week (Sept. 14-21) and good fishing is expected.

For the 6th consecutive year, Oak Haven Resort has shown an increase in bookings and income. This year we put in a new septic system, a new drain field, a new well, added more docks and upgraded our campground to 14 sites, all with water, sewer and electricity. Bookings are good for 2014. We hope you'll join us. Thanks.
