Eric and John from north central Illinois booked a morning trip on "Pete" for today. Eric was out with me about four years ago on a really windy and rough day, but today was just the opposite. Yesterday we had 15 mph + winds to contend with, and today it was as flat as a pane of glass. We started off trolling on the south end, but yesterday's winds blew a lot of algae that direction so it was awfully green. Moved to the north end and set up, but still a lot of green. We finished the morning with 17 "shorties", 1 "keeper", 1 in the slot, about a dozen white bass, 1 blue gill, and six cat. The flat calm conditions really hurt today’s bite.
