The recent warm weather has greatly improved the fishing. All species have responded favorably. This past week we have done well on bass, walleye, and pike. All fish have been relating to weeds. The bass have been hitting both live bait and various plastics and lures. We've caught all of our walleyes recently on crawlers. Pike have been hitting jigs and live bait combos, or Mepps spinners cast in and around weeds. I haven't been fishing for musky but we have had several encounter with them, one grabbing a bass that was being reeled in and several others chasing our jigs when they got near the boat. This tells me that they also are more active. The extended forecast looks good with a period of warm stable weather so I expect the good fishing to continue.
