The 33rd Anniversary Headwaters Chapter of Muskies, Inc. Spring Classic of Champions was held on June 8th and 9th. There were 74boats entered with 148 people fishing the tournament. The headquarters for the tournament was Wild Eagle Lodge with fishing limited to the Lower Eagle River Chain.

Fish Caught and Released: Saturday 24 Sunday 9 Total of 33 fish
Lakes fish were caught in: Catfish 12, Yellow Birch 7, Eagle 5, Scattering Rice 4, Cranberry 2, Duck 1, Otter 1, and river section 1.

Out of 74 teams, 25 teams caught at least one fish which means 33% of the field scored. The largest fish for the tournament was 45 inches.


Volunteer workers included Carol and Rick Janick, Joe Koschnik, Courtney Froemming, Sandy and Bill Jacobs, Bob Jacobs, Lloyd Fisher, Tom White and Marge Hollnagel. The judge boats were run by Coach Kip Cramer, Jim Edwards, Jay Hollnagel, Mike Kijowski, Joe Koschnik, Glenn Matula, Ken Pedersen, and Dale Peterson, Chairman of the Judge Boats.

The Wild Eagle Lodge was our tournament headquarters and Oneida Village provided the noon meal on Sunday which was served by the Eagle River Masonic Lodge. Presentation of awards took place in The Blue Heron Supper Club.

Next year is the 34th Anniversary of the Spring Classic which will be held June 7th and 8th , 2014.
