    Default Small Crane baits

Having trouble with hooks on smaller jerk baits especially crane baits.Andy wants to
remove middle hook and add larger ones to front and back. What do you think? Do you think you
    need a middle hook?

I did (and should have before, as the hooks are just too thin to be tough in these kinds of battles), especially after losing a very large northern pike on Leech two years ago. After releasing a 37" fish shortly afterward, I'm thinking that the one I missed may have been pushing 45". I replaced with Gamagatsu 4X Strong 1/0's and would with every Crane I buy from now on. Great baits, just poor hooks...

I also like to replace the hooks on all my Crane baits. I don't use Crane baits as much anymore. Now I use Big Game twitchbaits more because they are built better. You can replace the hooks on a Crane bait and leave the middle hook out with no problems hooking fish. Most of my Crane baits look like that. Good seeing you guys at Deerfoot a couple weeks ago.
