The 2013 season started off with some cloud and a forecast for rain. Rains came Saturday afternoon and didn't quit until Tuesday evening. With the rain, the wind blew HARD from Monday through Wednesday morning. Fish seemed to slow down during rain periods, but were caught in 10-14 feet as well as 20-25 feet at times between hard rainfalls. Minnows and jogs or spinners seemed to be the best presentation. Shorelines leading to points were the structural elements to focus on.

By mid-week, the weather improved and the bite did as well. Walleyes snapped good for one group on a rubble shoreline in 12 feet of water. Many fish caught & released over 22", including a 26.5" and 29" that were safely released. All their fish were caught using spinners.

Thursday evening produced a 32" monster walleye for the groups coming in for the Memorial Weekend. This fish was also released!

Weather was gorgeous both Thursday and Friday before a little cooler and windier on Saturday.

Water levels are coming up after significant rains throughout the district and will be higher than normal before long if they aren't already.

Good luck to everyone on the water this week.
