    Default Boycott the casinos

If the tribes want to over spear, boycott the casinos. Two can play at that game.

Unfortunately, I think we as fishermen already stay out of the casinos. I could be wrong.

While boycotting the LDF casinos may make you feel good, the real effect is virtually nil. Most of us already stay out of the casinos and the vast majority of those who do patronize them could care less about the daily bag limit of walleyes. Legal remedies? I'm not an attorney, but my fishing friends who are say there aren't a whole lot short of abrogation. And there are those who say Washington should abrogate the treaties. Well, that's not going to happen. So I guess what that leaves us with is the negotiating prowess of the the State of Wisconsin. I also wonder if the tribes are actually going to spear their limit on the TFF or just not release those fish allocated to them as they have in the past which allowed the bag limit to go to 3. I guess time will tell on that one. One thing for sure, this is a lousy situation. And while the bag limit has never been a factor in my fishing the TFF, it may be for others, and that's going to hurt folks in and around Mercer who depend on tourism for their financial well being.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

The Indian problems go way beyond bag limits. There's crime, ask any Vilas Cop and they have plenty of stories,Lakeland Union High where I had a kid suspended for defending himself when he was chocked from behind while sitting at his desk in class and yes you read that right, also Lakeland is a low rated school due to one major thing INDIANS.Racist I'm not but truthful I am.There's only one way to handle this issue and that's stop buying all Wis License's and spend as little money at local business as possible as the pocket book is the only thing that brings results.Sad story and anyone who has lived up here for decades has seen the downtrend year by year.I will move when I retire and presently buy License's and fish another state and yes I'll be glad to let the door hit me in the Azz.You can have Wisconsin.Nuff Said

Hogwall... You are quite possibly the biggest moron to ever grace this site. Please do not wait to retire. Just go now. Better yet, go cut a big hole in the ice and take a long... LONG swim.
Boycotting the local business and hitting them in the pocketbook is a stupid idea by a truly stupid individual. The area is filled with great people trying to make a living. Why would anyone want to try to hurt them or their pocketbooks any more than they have already been and will continue to be?

I think the way you express your self here is unnecessary as well as your name , it really shows a very negative person who enjoys belittleing and atacking another person. go away , your not appreciated with your personal atack. Others have been given the hook and I hope those that monitor the postings here do the same to you Mr. idiotstomper. You can express your personal opinion with out having to do a personal atack using poor language.

I'll retire when I can take my Wisconsin state pension and spend it in another state which is just a few short years away. This once great state has gone down the tubes of politics and I sure wish local biz people would speak up about the issues that hurt them, but it's likely to late as the trend is set.May once a booming month is DOA and we all know why.Of course there's other factors hurting local biz.I find your comments humorous, you new up here?

I dont get how spending no money at local businesses is going to help the issue? Its going to be difficult to tell people that doing things and going places they've been there whole life must stop to boycott the Natives. Casino's are one thing, local businesses are another.

Let me say I don't want the local Biz to suffer but after living here a long time I don't feel the local Biz people have pounded the table on this issue. If people keep buying Wis Lic and spending money up here the state will continue to look the other way like it or not its the all O'mighty dollar that talks and a big drop in Lic sales and Biz up here will get attention nothing else will.Sad story watching this unfold after growing up in the 1960's having equal rights shoved down my throat.Everyone should be treated equal.Lets not forget that the housing boom of the 90's and early 2000's is what kept this area afloat and now that that burst our local schools are loosing students at an alarming rate, storefronts vacant, our little towns are dieing cause the money seasons have become so short.Bottom line it would take years to bring back the fishing trade to this area even if a change was made.Fisherman have gone where they get bang for there buck and its not here.Good Luck

Wow cabin fever must be setting in.i sit back here in IL. and read about all the problems up north in the town of mercer .[the place i have been going to for over 35 years ,man I'm getting old.] Eyeshunter why boycott my chance on winning some money,if you are worried about over spearing go out at night and help police it and call the DNR about violators.and Hogwall maybe you should retire down here in IL.and then you can tell me how bad you have it. it will give you a new meaning to the word racism.from what i see there is more to mercer then just fishing.you can help Mercer out buy just applying yourself. you to can make a change veva la TFF LOL till my next post SS612 out.....PS who got walleyes on the brain
