    Question Guess that spot

Its that time a year again, where cabin fever is setting in. It seems to snow every day, hope spring comes soon.

This was a different shot of a cloud shaped as a upside down "U".

The wife thinks this is the east (right) side of the springstead landing as you go out. I think HRG has nailed it.

OK. In Bastine looking north at "Dee's Island" and the point of the Hiawatha Resort (nka condo proposal!).

What does Flambeau Fluffy's big book of records say for the latest ice out ever? Was it in 1996?

Have a good weekend everyone. Kathy and I will be back at cleaning carpets and wiping walls at Flambeau Vista Retreat.

Heading towards the dam on your right side, the area behind this is where sportsmens landing is.

    Default Towel is in......

Anybody traveling on the Big Water and returning to Sportsman or Springstead Landings has to go pass this Spot....... See attachment.

PS. Scott, being from PF, the home of the St. Croix rod manufacture. You'd catch hell for calling a Rod a Pole....

Let's try something a lot easier,

    Default You may have it.....

Not too sure George, but you may have it. Only thing is when you say heading toward the dam, you must mean from the east coming from Springstead. Here I always thought you head from the north to the dam.

Here is another one, along with the location to the last spot.

As always, have a great day,

Your right outside the dam looking out at the big water. The Dam is on your right.

No that's not it, but try again. George, after reviewing you previous answer, you don't get the new rod.

I can not believe this but I think I know were this is. I have only been to the TFF twice (one week each time)
This is just out from Sturgeon Bay Landing looking SW down the lake. If you make a left turn down the lake right before that little Island there is a bridge that will take a smaller boat to Merkle lake.

Heading north on Baraboo Lake that little bay to the left (west) of campsite R-23?

    Tim,

Take a look at the "Ice Out" thread. Are you and /or Flambeau Fluffy willing to declare the specific date and time of "ice-out" after it occurs?
email me if you need details.

    Thanks.

Thought this was going to be easy. Holy cow, what happened to spring? Cold, snow and high winds all weekend.

Here is another one of the same area,

Tiny , thanks for the Map Info . You have 3-6" of snow , we have much that in rain this morning ! You could drive a boat down some of the streets , now , if I could only find a stump to tie onto ....

Default About 30 inches of ice.....

First off, nobody got the spot.

There is so much ice you could easily drive a truck on it. Only problem is getting to the ice. There is so much snow along the shoreline that it's caused a fifty foot moat of slush a foot deep or better. As you can see in the pictures Fluffy went over her boots trying to walk from shore. I took the snowmobile and drove over the slush as best as I could. Got a little wet, but it worked. There is at least 30 inches of good, solid ice. Don't know if you can see the ice in the hole.

Our gang has made the decision that we'll be ice fishing for the opener.

Fluffy, told Scott that we'll have ice until the third weekend. He didn't want to hear that, of course nobody does. But with cooler than normal weather coming and the solid clear ice, it'll be awhile.

Until then keep you stick on the ice,

The ice has broken off the shore a few inches. Donners Bay has some open water! We saw 2 different "scout" loons pass be Flambeau Vista on Sunday.

Could it in Trude lake looking west. The little island in the center has a fire place on it. The land on the left is an island that has a really big house that has a wrap around second story deck. Keep going to the left is were the ramp is.

Is the picture looking towards Lodge of Lakeview?

    Cool Can't Wait

I believe you're looking at a sunrise with the power lines just above your head and Donner's Bay off to your right. Sixty days and counting!

    Default Good job

Randy, your smoking two for two.... Must be the same walleye that my brother trying to net from behind, knocked off a black and gold wally diver (damn rookie).

    Here is another hard one,

No, that's not the spot. Have fished it a few years back for muskie. Fun little lake.

You should have seen the three trucks trying to get out on the ice for two days. Couldn't figure out why they were so determined to get out toward the pink rock. Boy, could the fishing be that good? Then later Sunday afternoon, the three trucks (one pulling a tandem axile trailer) came back loaded down with all sorts of lumber. Well, having a ice shack has some disadvantages. Like removing them.

More snow, have a great day,

    Randy,

I still can't see the power lines, but if you can, the pic was my first hunch of coming out of Lake Bastine looking towards Donners Bay.

Tim, what say ye about the guesses and judging the "Ice-Out" contest?

    Default Took way too long.

Can't believe how this one took so long and it's on the Big Island, right under the highlines.

Here is an easy one, but that's what I thought about the last one,

Thanks Tiny for the ice fishing pictures. You sure know how to hurt a guy. Maybe we can drag Scott's ponton boat out on the ice for the opener and we can sit in that to avoid a foot or two of water. You are elected to put on the hip boats and drill the holes. Thanks again and please keep us posted so we know when it is time to come up and get things ready. Walt.
