    Default Late Jan report

Fishing has been good for this time of year, usually the panfish go thru a slow period mid and late January. We have been getting gills on small jigs and plastics or spikes near cribs or other underwater structure. The Crappie bite has been over deep mud flats. We have been using Little Cecils tipped with a gulp minnow head or jigs and plastics made by Custom Jigs and Spins or Fishtails Jigs.

Walleye and pike action has been fair with most of the walleye being taken in low light on golden shiners, there are still some green weeds and the pike are on them. Set a golden shiner a foot or two under the ice near weed edges for some fun fishing.
