Team Treblemaker fished yesterday in the Monster Muskie Tournament held out of Tom's Gas Dock in Miller Marina. The weather made things tough as the north winds kicked in gear all day blowing 20-25mph. After a bumpy ride to the south channel we decided that we would have better luck at the Spillway/400 Club area, and we were right. Ended up 15 for 18 with some nice fish.. A couple double headers and lots of fun, but could not manage to break the 51" mark needed to win the derby. As luck would have it none of the other boats managed to do this either. We fished primarily in one circle directly in front of 400 club to spillway in 12 FOW. Large baits is all they would take. Mag Shads, Nils and Ziggies. We also manged some fish on the Large Wiley Kings. Water color was nice and weeds were not to bad, although you did need to work the rods. Boat speed was slower as 3.5mph on the GPS seemed to be better. Hope this helps you catch that next slob. Good luck and good fishing.
