Walt from Poynette, Wisconsin met me at the County Park at 8 am for a morning on "The Rock". We went out to a spot on the old river channel edge that is loaded with timber and set in two dead rods with a minnow about two feet off the bottom, and jigged a rod with Branch Manager Jigs tipped with a half crawler. It did not take long to get into the action. Walts first walleye was a nice 20 1/2 inch slot fish. We ended at 1 pm with a nice livewell consisting of; 2 "keepers", that 1 slot fish, 15 "shorties, 16 crappies, 7 white bass, 1 big bluegill, and 1 sheephead. The weather was just great, a little wind to start the day but with the sunshine it was awesome.
There are gates open at the dams because of all the weekend rain so the fish will be moving into the river because of the current flow. This is the time to get in on a great fall bite.

Keep a tight line!!!
