Gluing Plastics worms

Just messing around and wondered about cutting part of one color tail and gluing it to body of another color. So far no success, anyone had success doing this? I tried super glue and once again only glued my fingers. So then tried the Gorilla Super glue gel. That did not work either. I then tried melting each end and sticking them together, no luck. I know you can buy jars of a dye and dip the tails but what fun is that? Any sage advise out there?
