Weather brought some challenges again this week with multiple storm fronts on Wednesday and high winds with a cold front on Thursday. Depsite that, muskies and walleyes were caught throughout the week.

Muskies appeared to have feeding windows where action could be fast and furious at times and then dry before and after. Rocks and robck combinations (shorelines, points, etc.) were the better producing structre. Cranks and twitch baits started the week with bucktails and topwater leading the way late in the week.

Walleyes weren't jumping in the boat but those expereienced at fishing for them found all the fish they could eat and some to take home as well if they desired. Walleyes up to 26" and muskies up to 46" were caught and released during the week.

Dick "Baitmaker' Moore found some crappies in August fishing in 25 feet of water in Miles Bay. The second day they found some they brought in nothing smaller than 13" and one as big as 16". Awesome summer slabs for sure!! Picture of second day stringer is on facebook so CHECK OUT THE FACEBOOK PAGE AND LIKE THE RESORT!!!

This is the first week of the summer since opener in May we haven't been bursting full. That signals the late summer slow down period, though we are busier than we have been in the past for this time of year.

One week til the muskie hunters come to fight for the Gil Hamm Chapter Challenge Lunge Bucket and it looks like mostly stable weather leading up to the pre-fishing days of early next week.

Good luck on the water.
