    Default Swans killed!!!!!!!!

Here is what a resident of Fayette found across from where they live.

The DNR is killing the swans down here. They didn't even cover them up.

The pic of the truck and boat are them leaving.

From what I have been told by people in other parts of this state(lower MI), these swans can multiply quickly and become a problem just as fast. I am no biologist but maybe someone with more knowledge can lend some insight.

I think they could at least bury them.

I have also heard they can soon become a problem(the swans). I agree someone should have thrown some dirt over them, or even better yet burried them with cormorants. As far as the pics being from 2007, I suspect the date on the camera is just wrong. First off Tom John has always given us honest straight forward reports. Additionally I don't think we had green grass and an unfrozen lake on Jan 1st 2007.

According to what I heard these swans "Mute invasive Swans" are not native to our area, and are a threat to the native "Trumpeter Swans" we have always enjoyed.

That said a burial or land fill would be much more appropriate...

and I agree that Jan. 1, is not that green, lol.

    Angry

Thought I would share this subject and get some opinions on FB.. after the uproar on my page, I decided to ask TV6 To actually do some real news reporting. That was the day after this post. Havent heard a word from TV6.. guess they are to busy doing the FB story of the day on where to buy your flowers in the Marquette area.
This makes me sick! I understand they arent native.. may be invasive.... Invasive species or not.. if this were left on my private property I would be calling every congressman senator and news agaency around. If I dumped fish guts.. or a deer carcass of legally taken game.. I would be fined heavily!
Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Dept of Environmental Quality.. Apparently you dont have to live to the same standards you will have the rest of us live to. OUR TAX DOLLARS HARD AT WORK!!!!
