Well my summer of "close calls" continues! Went out today with my friend Corey and we had an action packed day of musky fishing! We raised eight different muskies, and Corey lost a nice 40" class fish at boat side. Corey also had a mid-forties come up and try to kill his bucktail but missed the lure, and we both saw the fish and the huge boil after she missed! I raised a nice fish in the 47"-48" range and a true GIANT that pushed the 52"-54" mark, maybe larger! Water temps were at 77 degrees in the late afternoon, cooler in the morning. The one main catalyst to my pattern today was fishing the wind plus a ton of small bait fish visible on the structure. The full moon phase is closing in, and I predict some big muskies get caught this week (hopefully one by me to break my slump as of late!). I will be headed out tomorrow night with friends, and I have a guide trip lined up for Thursday and I will post reports afterwards.
