The Hoosier Muskie Hunters are scheduled to work at the Fishing Pond at the Indiana State Fair on Saturday, August 11. We have the afternoon shift which runs from 3:30 - 7:30. We need to know who is available to work this shift. This event is open to anyone who would like to volunteer.

For those who are not familiar with this event, The Fishing Pond is set up behind the DNR building. It is a 312,000 gallon pond that was built in 2006, to allow children aged 5-17 a chance to fish for free. Many of these children have never had the opportunity to fish. The pond is stocked with Bluegill and Catfish. The kids listen to a short presentation and then fish for up to 15 minutes. Last year, 3,600 kids got the chance to fish during the fair, so this gives a great opportunity to promote fishing to young children.

In return for your efforts, you will receive free admission to the Indiana State Fair, a free volunteer T-shirt and the chance to help young people learn to love fishing. If you are interested or would like additional information, post below or contact me at jvanosdol@gmail.com

Thanks,
Jeff
