Whereas walleye fishing has slowed recently, fishing in general has remained decent. With the warm water temps both smallmouth and largemouth bass have been providing most of the action for my boat lately. We are still catching some walleyes but having to work really hard for what we are catching. Bright sunny days and light winds have been a major factor in the tough walleye bite. Bluegills seem to be really active as well as we are being constantly pestered by them while jigging weeds with crawlers and leeches.

If you are going to target walleyes my advice would be to fish early or late in the day for best results. Otherwise for daytime fishing I would target bass for lots of action.
