Default Great Night Fishing or Rainbows in the Dark?

Started out at McKinley about 6pm, on Bullfrog with Captain Don and some friends. Motored to Fox Point and set-up in 80 FOW. Too, shallow, moved out to 125 and started catching fish. Slow to start until 9pm. Fish Explosion! We had 2 fish on for the next 30 minutes. Nice Kings to 15 pounds, good sized Cohos to 6 lbs, even 1 Laker about 6 pounds. We ended with about 5 rainbows, but the amazing thing was 3 of them came after 10pm! Hot rig after dark, 3 color lead with Atomic Melon spoon! Fish were hitting light and we lost at least 10 fish to long distance releases, at their request.

Quit fishing at 1pm as we ended up in 80 FOW in front of Concordia College, with 18 fish filling our cooler to the max.

Other boats did equally as well, or better. Roger Dodger for example limited with 25 fish at midnight and he worked the area in front of the Capitol Drive TV towers.

We should all stop and say "Thank You" to Eric Lesch (McKinley Marina Manager) for keeping an employee there 24 hours a day for the summer. The Cleaning Station is accessible all night long. What a welcomed tool for cleaning your catch between 10pm and 4am, the published Milwaukee Park Closed Hours!

The weather is going to take a cooler turn this weekend with some stiff NE breezes. Let's hope this hot Wisconsin fishing continues!
