    Thumbs up 5/27

It was a hot, bumpy day on "The Rock" today. A lot of boat traffic and wind to go along with it. I split a trip for a group of seven family and friends from the Evanston Il. area into two parts. The early morning group of Arica, Aviva, Shira, and Rebecca had some good action, including walleye, whitebass, catfish, and even a nice musky. The later group of Emmit, Yoni, and Rachel also had some whitebass, and one nice slot walleye come unbuttoned at the net. But as a group they finished with 3 "keepers, 1 "shortie", 1 musky, 26 whitebass, 1 sheephead, and 2 cat.I think they all had a good time by the smiles in the photos posted in the album.

    Keep a tight line!!!

I have been getting them trolling cranks 4-7 feet deep. If you are fishing with bobbers try setting then to this depth. The Buckhorn Bridge area has been thick with them for a few weeks now.

thanks Jerry, maybe the wind will die down and we will try again. We have mostly been jiggin with minnows. We went to the railroad bridge figuring there would be some there but no luck. It was very windy Sunday and deceided not to go out today.

If you are using jigs looking for whitebass, you are fishing wayto deep.
