I took clients Joe, Tim, and Kimberly and out for a half a day of walleye fishing today after a night of thunderstorms and heavy rain and didn't expect the best. We ending up having one of the best bites of the year so far for Walleye, by the end of the trip we came off the water with a limit of 13.5 to 16 inch fish and threw twice as many back. All of the fish were coming from 10 to 14 foot of water and on leeches. Most of the fish were caught on floating lindy rigs and the rest were on slip floats. We were also picking up some nice Gills and some Crappie mixed in with the Walleye so I'm not sure if they wrapped up the spawn or the heavy rains pushed them back out in deeper water. The water temps did drop a little, down to 65.
