Ok....I saw the topwater posts for opener, but I really would like some input for what folks are anticipating will be working this weekend. It appears that water temps are much higher than most openers? I am coming up from Texas for the weekend....can't wait!

Historically smaller baits seem to produce on muskie opener. Baits like Ghosttails, Rabbid Squirrel bucktails, and even Mepps. Crankbaits like slammer and Big Game in the smaller 5-6 inch range work great. Topwater will be good right away this year so that's why people are saying that. It's hard to beat the topwater follow and hit first thing in the season. Even if there are better producing baits, sometimes topwater just makes for more fun.

Thanks for the reply Ty. I boated 2 today, 1 low 30s, 1 mid 30s. 1 on a 6" twitch bait and the other on a burned show girl. I tried topwater, but no action. Water temps on the east fork were 64 degrees.
