Was up to fish Mon. evening, Tues., and Wed. Got into some big crappie - up to 14.5", gills up to 9.25" the first night. Then a cold front and high winds rolled in and shut the panfish down. Ended up with about 20 snaky northerns, 8 bass, 4 walleyes, 2 perch. The fish had been shallow but moved out when the water temp went from 67 to 60. Temp was coming back up, 65 on Wed., so the wknds warm temps might lights them up. The crappies had not spawned, the gills I caught were squirting, but I've seen that go on for a month. Otherwise I cast the shallows with flat raps and jigged deep with GULP minnows. Stopped at Donner's Wed. morning for minnows, was told by one of the guests there that there were no minnows and apparently they won't be carrying them any longer. Thanks to Elvis for tipping me off on a spot, 2nd time you've helped me out on the water.
