YOUTH MUSKIE SHOWDOWN

July 2, 2012
6a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Lake Bemidji
Rules and Regulations
• 1 or 2 participating teams per school. No entry fee.
• Participants must currently be in grades 9-12.
• Each team will be comprised of 2 participants.
• Student teams will provide their own boats and make sure they are safe to be on the water.
• Students must be able to legally operate their boat (must have watercraft operators permit if over 25 hp motor).
• Students must wear a life preserver when using their outboard.
• All fish are to be measured, photographed, and released.
• The largest muskie will be the winner.
• If no muskies are caught, the largest northern will qualify as the winning fish.
• Fishing is only allowed with artificial bait. This is Catch and Release event.
• All participants agree to behave appropriately, respectfully, and comply with all MN High School League and DNR rules.
• All students and their families assume all legal and financial responsibilities for their participation.
• The two winning teams from each chapter will compete in a one-day state event. The winning high school team will be given a trophy/plaque for their school.
