    Default Tomahawk Fishing Report 5/7/2012

Well the opener has come and gone and it was a good one for most anglers.
Walleye action was very good in the morning hours, Lake Alice anglers fished the shallows and did very well with the largest being a 27.5 incher. White seem to be the color lure to use here. Lake Nokomis Walleye action was good with anglers fishing the deeper rock and gravel bars, jigs and Mud minnows were the hot bait here.

Crappies were holding tight to the wood structure and on some lakes they are done spawning. Small minnows or size 0 spinners working well.

Bluegills moving in and out of the shallows as the water warms. Waxies or worms still the hot bait

If your after pike white spinnerbaits or size 13 Rapala's fished in the mouth of bays should get you hooked up to these fighters.

Water temps are in the low 60's, weed growth is good. Look for the fishing to be good all week.

    Good Luck
