    Default Fishing Update 3-3-12

To start with I hope everyone in West Liberty and Frenchburg are alright. The storms/tornados yesterday where unbelievable and really hit these locations hard.

The lake has come up about 3 feet due to all the rain in the last 72 hours. It is now at 3 feet below summer pool and still coming in. The core said they are releasing water today so maybe they catch up to it in a couple days. The upper end is muddy with a lot of run off coming into the river which will be heading this way. Water temps are 44-46 and have been now for several days. Most of the fish being caught have been caught trolling although some have been caught casting but majority trolling. These fish are moving into shallows everyday and when this weather stabilizes for a few days they are going to start really going. THIS WILL BE A GREAT YEAR FOR RATTLE BAITS with bad weed growth last year it make these lures easier to fish this spring. Don't forget about our Kentucy Rattler Rod perfect for these lures. We have 90% of the stuff in the shop right now so make sure you stop in and check it out. Things are looking good in here with a lot of great lures and colors.

Big selection of Red October Tubes, Crane Baits, Meat and Potatoe Tackle, Slowies with (customs), Medussa's, Bluegrass Rods, Squirtko's, Phantoms, Bull Dawgs, Tyrant Tackle, Sledges, and Rattle Baits.

We have Alabama Rigs also and the Schooler Rig from Meat and Poatoe Tackle.. These are killer looking and are going to take over musky fishing. The bass, walleye guys have used them for years. These are pretty cool looking so make sure you stop in and check them out. We also have them for crappie too.
