We are in our late winter dull droms but there are still some good opportunities to get out and enjoy the outdoors. We were out last night with Tom and Rob. Rob was from the Cleveland area and love to ice fish and stated he has been unable to do so this year due to the lack of ice in his area. He was not used to the idea of trucks on the ice and was a bit uneasy about it. We did have about 15" of ice where we were fishing. That is still thin compared to where it should be this time of year. We scattered a bunch of tip-up aroung a mid lake roch hump from 36' up to about 20' break on the hump. We did not get our first flag until the sun was just below the trees and caught a nice 20" eye. About 30 minutes later we landed a nice 26"er. That made the night as the bite was slow but the quality was good. The crappies are starting to go pretty good on tip-downs and this should get better as we get into March. The longer warmer days are nice.
