    Default Yacht club

Just wondering if anyone is having any luck out at the yacht club. I haven't been out there in about a week. Went out today and didn't have any luck. Thanks for the response.

Fished yesterday dawn till one. 33FOW. Marked four nice blips, no takers. Lots of traffic. First time there. What is with the strong intermittent current there? Sometimes would drift one of my baits out of sonar cone.

It's necked down in there. Sorta weird though. We had our 1/2 oz baits going one way and in about four seconds they would be on the opposite side of the hole.

I fished out there last Monday. It was one of the few times where there was very little current, so I was able to fish smaller baits. Normally, anything smaller than a #7 Rap gets blown out of the cone angle. I got two eaters on a #1 Shiver Minnow in Dominator, (a 16 and a 19 incher.) Later, I was working a good fish with a #3 Shiver in Glow Perch when a skinny line rocketed up from the bottom and t-boned my bait! By the time I unhooked a 10 incher, and sent my bait back down, the bigger fish was gone!

Got out again on Wednesday. Fishing was much slower, with only about a 20 minute of activity just before dark. Between my buddy Bruce, my dad, and I, we only caught 3 fish and lost another. Only one was legal.

Overall, the reports since Monday for that spot have been slow. Still, that's probably where I'm going to go if I can bust loose this evening. They've gotta turn on again, sooner or later.

I've been too busy to do much posting lately. That's why I'm just now getting around to putting up this pic of Dave Wellman with a 28 1/2 inch, 10 pound 5 ounce walleye he caught last Monday. Along with my little guys and a shot of how I like to see a walleye take a jig.

Guess Sunday was not the day they decided to turn on. Only marked 4 or 5 fish, and missed the bite I had. Still measured 10 inches of good ice.
