8-9 inches out of Kipling to center on Saturday. Pressure crack off West shore might get messy this week with the temps.

I don't think we are losing any ice as it is getting below freezing every night. As was said, the pressure cracks are messy and with the south wind bringing in more water, they will continue to be messy until the colder temps arrive later this week. Always be on the safe side and know where you are going and check out the pressure cracks every trip. They can change real quick.

Wow. Several years ago this cheesehead helped more than one "local" dig vehicles/ ATVs out of snowdrifts. I guess next time I'll ask where you're from first! Unbelievable!

On topic I was out today off of Kipling and fished on 9 inches of ice in 12 feet of water. ATVs everywhere. No trucks. I didn't cross any cracks so I can not comment on them, although with the ATVs all over they were crossing them somehow. Launch was a bit messy right where it meets pavement but had a solid beaten trail around the mess.

Knock us helpful cheese heads all u want but twelve years ago we never seen a camper shack on the ice.Maybe we were on to something, they seem to be all over today. I answered your question about night fishing. Have even gone as far as telling where the big ones are, shared bait, shoveled you out, pumped lots of money in your economy.Ya think ya could find the decency to keep your cheese head remarks to your self. Three years ago your capt. Ron pulls up beside us twenty feet away and starts drilling holes.we had been there two days zero fish, when he was on his second hole we had flags up every where, caught the skinniest thirty four inch walleye i ever seen.Try to explain that, I'd say from past experience noise not a big factor.

Helping each other out on the ice should be a given whether from WI or MI. Conditions can change in a hurry and we all need to be out brother's keeper out there. I get irritated by others honing in a spot I'm fishing, too, but I make a point of trying to give everyone their space when I set up...I don't feel comfortable setting up by another group OR an unoccupied shack closer than 50-75 yards. Respect for the next guy is the key and I'll be up three or four day trips and one 3-day weekend spending my hard-earned WI cash to help support the Gladstone economy regardless of any "cheesehead" comments. I am one and proud of it.

Got to Love the positive peeps on here. No one owns the Lake, but Tim Tebow's Man Jesus Christ. No one has a right to a fishing spot unless they are there. Can't park a boat on a spot during open water can you. Think about it. Maybe next time I come up from WI, I will just pick the lock and fish the spot until you come. Just an idea. Go packers!
