Default Let's Talk Muskies at the Chicago Muskie Show

Witch Bay Camp will have a booth at the famous Chicago Muskie Show this year. Now in its 17th year, this show attracts muskie anglers from throughout the Midwest. It begins on Friday, Jan. 13 and runs through Sunday, Jan 15 at the usual location - Harper College (corner of Algonquin and Roselle roads) in Palatine, Il. This location makes for easy access from Interstate 90 (Northwest Tollway).

Please stop by to say hello and talk about the incredible resource that Lake of the Woods offers and how fishing has improved in recent years. Ed Petrovskis, an expert Witch Bay angler, and Russ Warye will be there to help celebrate the upcoming muskie season and patterns and presentations that have been working on the northern sector of Lake of the Woods. What a great way to rid oneself of a case of the winter blahs - let's talk muskies...and we, of course, will enjoy discussing the other incredible fisheries available on this fabulous resource. Warye, as the author of 12 fishing books, has stated unequivocally in his seminars that LOTW is the premier fishery of North America.

The show opens at Noon on Friday, Jan. 13 and we will be there to talk fishing!

Thanks to those who took the time to visit the Witch Bay Camp booth during the Tri Esox Show in Chicago. It was great seeing some of the long time guests as well as the new groups that plan to visit the camp for the first time this year. Attendance was slightly up from prior years according to show promoters which is a positive sign that the Muskie Anglers demographics continues to grow. It's also nice to see many of those attendees caring around newly purchased rods, reels and tackle. Now the wait begins until the start of the season and for those who have yet to schedule their trip this year, it's not too late to give Gail a call and check for availabilities. Special thanks to Russ Warye who was there to promote the camp and provide helpful tips about the fantastic fishery of Lake of the Woods. Russ' passion for the sport of angling becomes contagious after just a just a few minutes of conversation and I can't thank him enough for the amount of knowledge and support he has provided me through the years of our friendship.
Also thanks to Bob Mehsikomer who provided some great video footage of his 100th, 50" plus muskie caught during his visit to Witch Bay Camp last year.
So now the long wait begins by checking you gear, marking your maps and looking forward to the new season. Thanks and good fishing to you all.
    Ed
