Hey guys, Happy New Year!

I was out fishing last week. The typical presentation is jigging and tip-ups.
For tip up fishing we were using sucker minnow about 4" in length. I like to use treble hooks as small as I can get away with and still get my bait hooked decent. We are using lights on the tip up's so we can see our flags before and after dark.
As for jigging we are jigging with swimming minnows or spoons tipped with a minnow head.
As of Saturday in the Bergland Bay we had about 9" of ice and travel was great. Now it has been snowing since New years eve and at the resort I would estimate that we have gotten a foot and half to 2 feet and it is still coming down. This will change everything on the lake. Travel just became difficult.

Fishing was good up until this point catching nice walleye and perch.

It's going to be a couple days before I get back out there to report on conditions.

For the latest information you can call the resort and we'll give the skinny. 906.575.3542

Thanks,
