Ice conditions are good, most lakes have 8 to 12 inches of ice.
1 inch of fresh snow cover on the lakes.
People are driving out on the ice but we suggest that you use extreme care.

Walleye action remains strong on the area flowages with the best action on Nokomis and the Spirit Flowage. Nice fish up to 25 inches this week. Shallow water right now mostly up on the bars. Smaller shiners or small suckers, by small I am talking about 2.5 to 3.5 inches. Later bite now any where from sunset up untill 8 - 9 pm. Some anglers are having good luck jigging Salmo Darters or Lindy Darters.

If your looking for Pike just fish the bays with weeds and you will catch them, We caught several over the last few days up to 34 inches, most are 24 to 27 inches. Tip ups or jigging its a lot of fun.

Crappies, wigglers are tops right now, use a tip down for best action.

Perch are a little slow but we caught some in 4 feet of water using small fatheads on a 1/64 oz jig.

Bluegill action, numbers are good but size is smaller this week, waxies or spikes on a purple jig. Bigger gills are deep.

Good Luck
Dave
