    Default Ice Conditions Update

The past few days of warmer temps and all day rain yesterday have not helped the conditions on area lakes. Be very careful on the ice. Go slow. Use your spud bar to check where you're going. The better news is that things are cooling back down. Not frigid in the forecast but at least temps in the 20's are expected. That should help some but it will take time to build that ice back to a more comfortable level. We also have some light snow in the forecast. Hope that won't be enough to provide insulation and create slush. We'll keep an eye on things and let you know what's going on as the weekend progresses.

Getting some reports in of the ice averaging about 5". Still need to watch out as there are areas with thinner ice. Last couple cold nights have helped. Very mixed reports on fishing. Some doing good to very good and others not doing well at all. Hard to know for sure if they're on a bad bite or just not very good fishermen. The guys I know to be good fishermen are at least putting a few fish on the ice. We'll see how many guys come in for more minnows and waxies tomorrow.
