Now we have rain coming down, starting to thin the ice but we still have 4 inches?? No travel on the ice by atv's, snowmoblies, or trucks. Hopefully the rain quits soon. Other than that the fishing has been really good. Nice Walleye's still in the shallow water and small shiners are the best bait with # 10 red treble hooks, setup your bait about 9 inches off the bottom. Good Crappie action off of Sunset point rd. Mohawksin/Somo area. Bluegills are hitting like crazy over on Lake Alice along with Crappies in the stump fields Waxies or Spikes for the Gills and Rosies for the Crappies.
Will keep this thread posted with ice conditions for this week.

Ice firmed up real good but with no snow on the ice is making for very slick conditions so bring along some cleats.

Lots of Pike today, eating just about anything you dropped down the hole. Fish the bays in 5 feet of water with suckers or big shiners.

Bluegills still doing well with waxies or spike on a Spitzfire Jig.

Not much for Crappies today but from what we heard in the shop early morning seems to be best.

Walleye anglers are having best luck on smaller shiners (2 - 2.5 inches) still in the shallows. Setup about an hour before sunset. Jigging Salmo Darters been catching nice Walleye too.

    Good Luck

Hey Dave! I appreciate the reports! We might be heading up to our cabin over in Bit o the North in the coming weeks. Hear anyone catching Pike over by Sunset Point / Somo? Looking forward to the Crappies if they're still biting.

How thick is the ice as of now?

    Take Care,

    Jon

Appreciate the report Dave. Do you guys have a hardy amount of Waxies and 6" shiners in stock? Just making sure you'll be in stock of everything I need.

    Thanks,

    Jon
