    Default Lac Vieux Desert 12/3

    The lake finally froze over Tues. night-Wed. AM(11/29-11/30). As of 11 AM Sat. it is now 1 1/2" consistant thickness. Looks like tectonic plates with all the "spider" cracks, which is good for making better ice. The only question will be how much snow we get tonight & tomorrow. There is only 1 inch of snow on the surface right now. Very slick. Forecast for next week is 0"s so hoping there isn't too much insulation dumped on it first.

    Today went out and found 2' - 2 1/2" base ice. Suprised to find only 2"-3" snow cover on the ice as we recieved 5" on land here Sat. night. But that is good as temps are supposed to be -0* by Thurs. - Fri.
