Braved the strong west winds yesterday from 3:30 - 6:30, probably wasn't the smartest thing to head out alone under those conditions but it really paid off.. Started out drop shotting on a wind swept point boat control was nearly impossible, after getting pushed into the shore & piers a few times & ready to call it a day I just anchored up right at the edge of a pier & started working bright Perch patterned firetiger lipless rattle traps around the piers & weedline, Caught 5 largemouth, 3 smallmouth all in the 2 - 2.5# range & a 25" pike. I was burning the traps fast as i could to keep them up out of the weeds & it really triggered reaction strikes.
