    Default Late Summer

It's been a hot summer for the most part after our late Spring. Water temps are still near the mid 70's. But hold on it is about to change, we have some 50 degree high temps predicted this week. The cooler water should bring the fish shallow. I have heard reports of some walleye action in the shallow water near the Hardwoods. Some are still trolling cranks or bottom bouncers and crawler spinners. Minnows should come into play soon. Gotta love the minnow and jig bite, my favorite.

Muskie fishing has been slow with the hot windlass days, but should too improve with some cooler water. Fish are still in the weeds if you can find weeds, Sucker has been the best bet. The rocks also hold fish on low light or windy conditions.

Last weekend was tough. Tried for walleyes both deep and shallow. Minnows, leeches, crankbaits. Although it was easy to mark fish at several spots, we were skunked for the whole weekend. Ouch. Any other reports out there?

    Default Walleyes

Cold front blues!! We had some success catching nice fish on bottom bouncers and crawler/spinner rigs. Also caught fish on a jigs and minnows. The fish were munching on small perch on a shallow flat near Goose Island. Mother Nature then shut everything down with very cold temps and some big wind. Best fishing of the year is just around the corner. Water temps have dropped big time.
