Marsha Scholl has taken the lead in this year's Fishing Contest in the Perch category. Marsha landed a monster 12 3/4 inch Perch while fishing with her family. This fish is equal to the largest Perch ever landed since we began our fishing contest in 2008. Bruce Moore caught a 12 3/4 inch Perch in 2010.

Kelly Burton landed a 29 1/2 inch Pike while fishing with her husband and friends. Mark Burton had a Pike that he wanted to have measured for our contest...but as he and friend Rex Brockterman attempted to bring the fish from the boat to the shore....well...the fish got away.

The surface water temperature continues to hover around 70 degrees. Recent cool nights have started breaking down some of the plant life. The September full moon is coming this Monday so anglers should be aggressive for Walleye and Muskie. Both species use the light of the moon to target their prey.
