As it has been all over the country, it's been a hot summer here in the Bemidji and Cass Lake area. But cooler temperatures have finally arrived. Today's ten day forecast calls for highs in the mid 70's every day and lows around 52 every night.

Surface water temperatures are at or near 70 degrees right now. We are nearing the period when fall fishing is similar to spring fishing. Changes in the water temperature trigger the fish into eating more and eating more aggressively. As the water temperature slowly drops to 60 degrees in the coming days, fishing should be good.

At Oak Haven, most of our best anglers stay with us in the spring and fall. They target periods when the water temperature is changing. These are usually the times when we post our very best Walleye photos.

September is a great month. Some of our favorite returning guests are soon to arrive.

All of our cabins are full September 10-17, but we still have a few cabins remaining the last 2 weeks of the month. What are you doing then? Need a good deal? Call toll free 1-877-860-9948. Thanks.
