    Default Musky Report 08/25

Cooling water temperatures caused by recent colder nights have spurred a very good bite on most area lakes. My good friend Steve Badger and I hit the lake on two different trips and we caught three muskies, and lost three fish, and we raised a grand total of 11 fish. My hot lure was the Super Topraider, and I lost a really good one (upper forties class fish) on a Pacemaker. The nice fish I caught below was a redemption fish, as it was right where I lost a fish a few days before! Steve caught his two muskies on bucktails.

When you see steam coming off the lake early in the morning, that is your sign to dig out your Topraiders, Pacemakers, etc. (see pic below). I preach about this situation a lot in my seminars and we are now entering this fun time of year up here. Get on the water when you can, since they are moving!
