    Default Fishin' Report! 8/24/11

    Hey Guys,

Went out fishing last sunday and did pretty well. Hit a few spots up the wi river near kings dam. I was fishing right off of the bottom with a plain hook and sinker with a leech. Caught several nice bluegill in the 9"-11" range in about 6-10ft of water. Along with them we caught a lot of smaller walleye, 14 inchers. After fishing the spots up river we decided to head over to the first trestle by the 4th street bridge. It was getting closer to evening, but still got a couple of hours in there. Fished it the same way, plain hook and sinker with a leech, crawler, or fathead. Caught a ton of under size walleye and some more nice bluegill. As it just started to get darker out we hit a 14" crappie and a few minutes later hauled in a 24" walleye! So, for a day of fishing it wasn't too bad. Got enough for a decent meal and a good story to tell. I hope this will help you guys out!

Good luck & We'll see you on the water,
    Shane M.

Nice catches Shane. Were you fishing with a slip bobber or just letting the bait sit on the bottom? Do you think the water temp will be dropping in the next couple of weeks? Heading up second week in September. Hoping we get into a lot of fish.

Shane, you say in 6'-10' FOW. Are you drifting and bottom-bouncing? Or are you ancoring and fishing known structure?

    Keep the updates comming!
