Default 10 to 17 Aug Trip

Well, just got back from the 6 to 13 Aug Trip, saw one follow on the 2nd day and was to be the last. Fished weeds, outside edges and deep timber, even tried depth raiders and similar cranks to get deep, no one was moving any fish though the water temps had dropped to the mid 70's. Did fish only the east side, noted a definite lack of weed growth. In hind sight I might have done better putting in the time to go to the west side. Suspect the high water coupled with the cloudier water on the east side made the weeds worse than they probably are on the clearer west side. Even the northerns were more scarce. I will be back up 10 to 17 Sept, hope those fish that seem to have been hiding all summer get active by then. As I was getting ready to leave, finally heard the bell ring at Indian Trails, so hopefully the musky dry spell is over.

we were on the southeast side 10-14 AUG. Just a lazy follow around Rudys, other than that, no muskies. Heard of a 42 and a 38 being caught. Still a great trip though. We we're having a blast with small mouth bass on spinner baits tight to shore. Wind/waves was critical. Most were 14" or better. Got chunky 29" & 31" pike with the same pattern.
