    Question Lund Sporttrak Question?

    Does anybody out there use the Lund Sporttrak downrigger bracket? I'm wondering if they are strong enough and worth the money? Or would a person be better off making some mounts and mounting them permanently on the boat? I was looking for some opinions or ideas that anybody is willing to share.

    I called a dealer this spring and was told it is not a good idea for the big lake. My sport track rod holders do ok for planers but I will be replacing the plastic mount as they are all starting to wear pretty good at the channel.

    I'm having the same problem that you are having. I was pretty skeptical about the sporttrak system right from the beginning. Anyway thanks for your thoughts.
