    Default Fishing Report 7/20/11

The walleye and crappie fishing might be a little slow as the water temps warm but that dosen't mean that fishing is slow!!! At this time of year our guides start to target other action fish for our clients. One of our favorite targets on hot summer days are Largemouth Bass. As the water warms and the sun is high in the sky the Largies start to pack in to the thick weed mats witch make them easy to find and target. Smallmouth Bass fishing is also hot and heavy right now, we have been getting a lot of action on surface baits or jig and leech with the smallies. If your not picky give bass fishing a try it's action packed and most days we can put 50 plus fish in the boat!!!

Attached is a picture of a 23" Largemouth that a Client caught and released last summer. The fish was caught out of a thick weed mat near deep water on a calm bluebird sky day.
