    Default SE Wisconsin bass fishing.......

I know it's not walleye fishing on the "chip", but its about a 20 minute ride to my favorite bass lake here in Waukesha County. Bass fishing the last 2 weekends has been nothing short of fantastic. Last Sunday we landed 29 bass and this morning we got 41 bass and 3 pike in the boat. Awesome topwater strikes on buzzbaits and chuck-it frogs. Plus a few on swim senkos.

    Hi Tony,

Looks like a lot of fun. Bass are fun to catch. Up here they also taste good. Do you ever keep any to eat? The Walleye fishing on the Big Chip is picking up. Had limits the last few times out.

nope, never kept a bass for the frying pan. Next time I make it up to the chip may keep a lmb for the pan. Normally only keep walleye and crappie on the chip, last year we kept a 28" pike, and had shore lunch and it was delicious. Nothing beats fresh fish.

    Hey DWW,

The LM Bass up in the northwoods are excellent table fare. You do yourself a disservice if you don't eat them. Just remember to remove the red lateral line. That's where the gamey taste is. When are you coming to the Big Chip? We'll have to get together and have a LM Bass fry.
