    Default T.F.F. Update

The past two days have seen a big change in weather and fishing action as well. Tuesday was a day where just about everything we tried resulted in smallmouth and pike, but not so good on the walleyes. Working shallow wind blown shoreline with wood, weeds, and rocks produced just a few eyes and 1 jumbo perch. Tried drifting with the aid of driftsocks and that didn't produce either. Lot's of fish but little on the walleye part. Wednesday was a much different story. With a big rain storm approaching and SE winds blowing, we worked shallow wood, weeds, and around bogs with 1/16th ounce Reeves weedless jigs tipped with 1/2 crawler and had a day like none before. At the start, it was a fish every other cast, and it stayed that way until the big temp drop in the afternoon hours. Walleyes were in close as were spawning crappies and bluegills, also in close and on a great bite were largemouth bass and the dreaded pike. It was a great day as we limited on the eyes and panfish early, put them on ice in a cooler and spent the rest of the day flipping jigs or using slip bobbers to see just how many fish we could catch, we lost count after reaching 150. Can't believe how everthing came together on this day.

Headed back to the same spot today, will keep you posted.

    Smile That'll Keep you Smilin'

Don: A day like that will keep you smiling and coming back for ten extra years. Some of my best fishing days have been with a southeast wind and a storm approaching. Or maybe someone in your boat was overdue for a great day from the man upstairs. Bill
