Fishing has been good since the opener here on the Cass Chain. Water is higher than I recall it ever being in the past at this time of year and it is a little on the cold side as well. All of the weed growth is way behind what I would call normal and the spawning has been bumped back for many of the warm water types of fish. I have not done much guiding for anything other than walleye. So far this season we have not had a bad trip. We have been catching fish on crankbaits, leeches and nightcrawlers with many other people still doing well with minnows. Water temp as of this afternoon was around 63-66 degrees.
