Default Fishing Report High Water Flows 6/1/2011

Our fishing has still been excellent. We are personally fishing on Case. Also have heard the fishing is decent on Sharpe. Still have not been on Sharpe because of the excellence of Case.

Limits on Case have come from Boyers to the Dam. Still some of the best fishing we have seen on the northern 1/3 of Case in a long time. You may have to turn some small fish to get your limit, but given time and turning enough fish there is a good chance you will get it.

One wildcard is they are going to start opening the spillway on Friday. We have never seen that, I am sure it will change things, but the fish will still be their with a minor adjustment.

Here is a small scoop on my weeks's trips. On Tuesday I had a group out from Colorado Springs, Co. Excellent Fishing. We had our limit before 10. Catching 60 fish on the day.

On wed My group was from Ft Dodge, IA. We caught 55-60 fish with our limit of nice fish by 10:30 a.m.

On Thursday and Friday I had a group out from Sioux Falls, SD. This group has been with me for around 10 years. We caught over 150 fish in 2 days with our limit at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday and Noon on Friday.

On Sat and Sunday, I had a group from Owatanna, MN. This group has been with me for 8 straight Memorial Weekends. Limit everytime. We had 2 boats and caught around 320 fish. Full both days around 11:30 a.m. Had to let the girls boat win one of the days.

    Until next time

    Default Water levels

Mike, thought I would see what you know about the water levels at Dock 44. I am heading up June 12 and wondered if you thought flooding would be a problem at that time. I read you posted the release of water was going to happen this week and I would guess this will go on for a while.

    Thanks

If I were to guess, Doc 44 will be unusable by then. You will have to check when it gets closer to time. The Corps says they are not going to fill up Case, but I find that hard to believe eventually.

Mike, any thoughts on the fishing during this high water event. I always thought when the water is on the rise the better the fishing.
