    Default Windy days

I have to be honest with everyone....The wind has been rediculous so far this year. I sure hope the wind cooperates with opening of bass season this weekend. I hear there is a chance of rain and thunderstorms for Sunday and Monday. Good luck everyone going out for bass! Save some for me as I will be missing opening day. But Sunday I will be going.

Welcome to Little Bay de Noc - where the wind doesn't blow, it sucks!

At least you can get out of the worst of the wind in the rivers. I fished the Escanaba Wednesday evening in all that wind. Between that and the extra current, it was all I could do to keep the bow pointed upstream and slowly drift down. Still, I managed to land 5 smallies and lose a few more. Caught most of them on Senko's, but also landed fish on shallow cranks and spinnerbaits. My fingers finally got too cold to cast, so I headed back down to the river mouth to troll Raps. Caught a small pike and an eater walleye. It was difficult landing/unhooking fish while trying to keep the boat from drifting into the pilings at the same time.

Bugged out after those two fish. I got my fix for the day
